1st, 2nd and 5th:  Bellringer
Root words and Prefixes

Knowing the meaning of a prefix or root word, along with context clues, can help you determine the meaning.
Complete the vocabulary strategy practice on the bottom of p. 49 in the Literature book. Write the underlined word and what you think it means. Also Add these sentences:
6. The mayor was caught in a malfeasance when the council found out he used public funds for personal purchases.
7. The children on the Michael Jackson “Man in the Mirror” video appear malnourished.
8. Some people think ghosts are malevolent, but I am not afraid of them.

Finished vocabulary cards from the story.  Worked on subjects and predicates in 1st and 5th - Homework if not completed in class.
 
4th and 6th - Define Non-verbal Communication:

p. 79 – what is body language?

Returned test, Activities pantomiming; Powerpoint on non-verbal communication.
