1st, 2nd & 5th Bellringer:Read the article. Answer the following questions in complete sentences in a paragraph or two.
What incident prompted the author to write the editorial?
What concept is the article addressing?
What “advice” does the author give the reader?
Do you agree or disagree with the editorial, and why.
Example beginning: In this article the author, a newspaper editorialist from Miami, is reporting on the concept of civility. He feels that, in general, the American public has become rude and ill-mannered.

Class Work: Non-verbal Collages
You will create a collage of words and pictures to communicate different aspects of your personality. Cut your construction paper in a shape of your choice. Be prepared to explain the shape you chose. Choose 4 of the following areas to focus on:
Hobbies, Dreams, Dislikes, Career, Political View, Future Goals, Achievements, Sports Teams, Personality Traits, Strong Beliefs, Famous People you admire, Family, Friends, Favorite Subjects, etc.
