Thursday

1st, 2nd, and 5th - Bellringer:  Write the sentences. Underline the subject once, the verb (predicate twice), and write DO over any direct objects. Keep in mind sentences may have more than one of each, or no direct object.

1.  A stinging slap came on my jaw.
2.  She slammed the door, and I heard the key turn in the lock.
3.  I shook with fright.
4.  I clutched the stick, crying, trying to reason.
Class work - read Sorry Right Number by Stephan King

4th and 6th - Bell ringer:
1. What is a symbol?
2. What is the difference between interpersonal communication and intrapersonal communication?
Class Work - choose symbols to describe you and give presentation with visual aid.Today we spoke about intrapersonal communication (the ability to conduct an inner dialogue and to assess one's on thoughts, feelings, and reactions).

Think about yourself. What types of symbols describe? Draw a picture and briefly describe each symbol you select. Choose four things (movie, slogan, place, and weather forecast) that describe you in some way. You can select from the following list of symbols, or come up with some of your own. You will be presenting this to the class.
