Friday

1st, 2nd, and 5th:  bellringer -
1.  Define foreshadowing from the literature book

2.  Look at the beginning of the story on p. 150 – What might the author be hinting at?
3.  Give an example from the story about how a camera angle builds suspense.

4th and 6th: 
1. Define Stereotype from the book:

Read The Communication Breakthrough on p. 17
"A Worthwhile Conversation"
2. What was Caleb's barrier to communication. Pick the one most likely to have been his obstacle (of the five types we discussed).
3. How might stereotypes have been a factor in the relationship between Caleb and his teacher.
Discuss stereotypes and slang groups; watch Breakfast Club clip; act out group stereotypes.
