More Subjects and Predicates

p. 500, Exercise 9: 2-7; Identify the Simple Subject and Simple Predicate in each sentence. Keep in mind one or both could be compound.
Subject Predicate
1. Nez Perce' lived, flourished

Order of Subject and Predicate - In questions, sometimes the subject is out of place (following the verb). In a command the subject is not stated directly. The complete predicate is the entire sentence, with the subject being the understood pronoun you.

Exercise 11 p. 501; 2-5
Write the simple subject and simple predicate of each sentence.
                     Subject                    Predicate
1. licenses                                    are issued

2nd and 3rd - Continue Presentations on To Kill a Mockinbird
4th - Volleyball game in Gym - Faculty v Students for United Way
