English 9 H Feb. 10, 2010

  • Grammar Book: Define adjective - p. 461.
  • Give an example of an adjective and the noun it describes
  • Give an example of a noun used as an adjective and the word it modifies.
  • Give an example of a possessive noun or pronoun used as an adjective.
Class work - identify 20 adjectives in paragraph; finish reading The Miracle Worker; watch The Miracle Worker.

2nd block:Speech bellringer: p. 225 - Recalling the Facts - 1-3. Write questions and answers.
Daily Work - Present Dream Home speeches; Discuss transitions in speech; group transition activity

3rd block:Advanced Speech p. 246 Answer questions Recalling the Facts.
Class Work:  review fallacies; more practice with reasoning by analogy.  Groups play apples to apples to make comparisons and formulate arguments.  Overview of Chap. 11 in book; watch My Fair Lady
