Tuesday

1st Block: Review for verb test:
  • Know definitions of transitive, intransitive, linking, verb, verb phrase, etc.
  • Know how to form principal parts of verbs  fix fixed fixed; go went gone
  • Know how to form tenses
Review all tenses - examples:
past perfect I had fixed the car.
past progressive I was fixing the car.
future progressive I will be fixing the car.
 
2nd block - Speech - Feb. 9, 2010

What are the 3 parts of the introduction
List three types of attention-getters
Continued powerpoint on Organizing Speeches -
Group Activity - write introductions for assigned topics using different types of attention getters
Practiced chronological patterns; began spatial-relation patterns using designs of dream homes.

3rd block - Advanced Speech Feb. 9, 2010

Give one example of Inductive Reason.
Give one example of deductive reasoning.
Give one example of a fallacy.
Daily work - groups presented fallacy definitions and examples.
Reviewed powerpoint on logic and reasoning Chap. 10;
Assigned group work and presentations on analogies.
Began watching My Fair Lady for articulation, enunciation, and speech ideas
