Friday!!!

Yes we had school today, but it was a pretty fun day with creative presentations.

1st block - English Honors;
Grammar Book p. 445 Exercise 13

Write the underlined noun #s 11-20 and the types of noun (common, proper, collective or abstract). Some will have more than one identification.
Example #10                group - collective, common
 
Finish working in parts of speech groups - Presentations today!
 
2nd block - Beginning Speech
Speech Bellringer What three steps on p. 11 make up the value foundation of effective communication?
  • Class Activities - Define stereotypes and discuss how there are a barrier to effective communication.  Divide into slang groups and present a conversation based on the words associated with these groups.
3rd block - Adv. Speech/Drama   
 Bellringer Read The Communication Breakthrough on p. 17
"A Worthwhile Conversation"
1. What was Caleb's barrier to communication?  Pick the one most likely to have been his obstacle (of the five types we discussed).
2. How might stereotypes have been a factor in the relationship between Caleb and his teacher?
  • Get into slang/stereotype groups - present conversations
