Subject/Verb Agreement November 23, 2009

Copy notes:

A verb must agree with its subject in number and person.
Number: singular or plural
Person: 1st, 2nd, 3rd
· In general, third person singular is only change. Add - s or -es.

                              Sing.                  Plural
1st                       I am                     We are
2nd                     You are                 You are
3rd                       He, She, It is         They are

2nd person pronoun is always plural.
Singular Plural
Ex. I go to the store We go to the store.
You go to the store You go to the store.
James goes to the store. The boys go to the store
