Monday

1st, 2nd, and 5th:  Bellringer English Bell ringer

Write 2 sentences about the Superbowl, advertisements, or half-time show. If you didn't watch any of the above, just choose a topic.
Identify subject, verb, direct object (if one), predicate adjective or nominative (if one), prepositional phrases, conjunctions.
Example - During the Star Spangled Banner, Christina Aguilera flubbed some of the words.
subject: Christina Augilera
Verb: flubbed
Direct Object: some
Prep. phrases: during the Star Spangled Banner, of the words
Class work - work on writing prompts:  criterion-ws.ets.org
 
4th and 6th:  Bell ringer
Define criticism as stated in the book - p. 109

How should criticism be viewed?
What is the difference between constructive and destructive language.
Class work:  work on informative speech projects - Due Feb. 18!
