Thursday

1st, 2nd, and 5th - Read article on Meth from Thursday's Ledger-Enquirer.  Article can be found on website.  Answer the following questions on your bellringer:

1. How many years did Mr. Bobe struggle with drug addiction?
2. What are two of the physical effects of meth use?
3. Why is meth so addictive?
4. What is one sign that someone you know may have a problem with crystal meth?
5. What is one of the societal effects of drug addiction?
6. Why is meth called a monster of a drug? Give a specific example from the article.

Class Work:1st:  Listen to the Raven; watch the Simpsons version.  Begin reading The Cask of Amontillado.
2nd - Answer questions: 
1.  What is a narrative poem?
2.  What is the setting of the poem?
3.  Who is the poem about?
4.  What does the Raven symbolize?
5.  How do you think the poem ends. 
5th:  Read The Miracle Worker

4th and 6th:  Speech bell ringer - Speech Bell ringer - 4th period

1. How does Professor Higgins tell where people are from?
2. What does Higgins bet that he can do with Eliza?
