Thursday

1st, 2nd, 5th:  Today's Topic Bellringer:  Read article, then answer questions.
Kanye West admits to suicidal thoughts LOS ANGELES — Kanye West says he thought about killing himself, but now feels a responsibility to make a meaningful contribution to pop culture and art.    The 33-year-old rapper didn’t say when he had considered suicide.    He told an audience at a screening in Los Angeles for his new film, “Runaway,” that although there have been times when he “contemplated suicide,” he “will not give up on life again.”    West says there are so many people who will never get the chance to have their voices heard as loudly as his, that he will “do it for them.”    He is credited as director of the abstract 35-minute film, which features portions of nine new Kanye West songs, boldly colorful visuals and off kilter camera angles.
  • What does contemplate mean?
  • Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death among teenagers 15-24. Why do you think teens attempt suicide?
