Friday

I was out on Friday, Sept. 17th.
1st, 2nd, & 5th periods - read editorial from Columbus-Ledger and answer questions.
    1-Compare the newspaper article to the books we are reading, We Beat the Street and Freedom   Writers Diary.  Write a few sentences about similarities.
    2-What is the author of the article trying to tell us about stopping the violence?
    3- As a teenager, how do you think we can stop violence in our society?
Daily Work - read Freedom Writers Diary entry and respond to writing prompt.
1st Period:  Have you or someone close to you grown up missing a parent? Describe how this has affected you or the person close to you.
Why did the kids in the story change the crime scene? Have you or someone you know ever chosen to change a version of events rather than tell the truth. Describe.
2nd period: 
Remember the student pledging the sorority, and the student who was jumped to join the gang.  Answer the question:  How far would you go to become popular or part of a group? 
5th period:  • Review diary entry 13. Have you or someone close to you grown up missing a parent? Describe how this has affected you or the person close to you.  • Why did the kids in the story change the crime scene? Have you or someone you know ever chosen to change a version of events rather than tell the truth. Describe.
