Tuesday after the break

English 9 H - bellringer from Friday (collected the three from last week)

Grammar Book - p. 462 Ex. 39 - Write sentences 2-4 and fill in with and adjective.
1. The sheepdog trial was held on a football field.

Ex. 40 Write the adjective form of the nouns in #2-6. Use a dictionary if you need help.
1. literature - literary
 
Powerpoint on Characterization:  Group Activity- each group member will complete a worksheet on a character from The Miracle Worker.
Vocabulary - each group will complete a worksheet with a set of words (writing the word, predicted meaning, actual meaning, and sketch of word).
 
2nd Block - Define words logic, evidence and reasoning.  Finish crossword puzzles on "Organizing Your Speech" for homework.
Daily:  Powerpoint on logic and reasoning.  Begin informative speech presentations.
 
3rd Block  Advanced Speech Feb. 16, 2010

Bell ringer:  What is the difference between concrete and abstract words?
Daily:  Powerpoint on effective language.  Practice using allusions, irony.  Discuss comparative imagery, contrast imagery, and exaggeration imagery. Began informative speech presentations.
