Friday

1st Block  English 9 H

Adverbs - For each sentence below, rewrite adding at least one adverb.
1. The lead guitar player sang the songs.
2. The teacher moved around the room.
3. The politicians debated the issue.

Write 2 sentences about To Kill a Mockingbird using an adjective and adverb in each one. Underline the adjective once and the adverb twice.
Example: Dill boldly dared Jem to touch the old Radley house.  (boldly is adverb, old and Radley are adjectives)
Read chap 2-3 in class; read Chap. 4 for homework.
 
2nd and 3rd Block SpeechSpeech Classes

Write the following questions for a bellringer. Watch the movie to answer the questions. 1. What is the main setting of the movie? (time and place)
2. Which member of the team chose to resign?
3. What are the social problems in the movie?
4. What was Mr. Tolson accused of in the movie?
5. List at least 5 examples of speech terms,characteristics of speech we have discussed in class that appear in the movie as well.
